Welcome to Silver Moon Traders, located mostly online these days.  I have been a home based sole proprietorship since 1990, and my goal is to offer you the finest fetishes by Zuni carvers (and the occasional Navajo or other native craftsmen) with great customer service.

The items I carry are made by Native Americans.  I will occasionally buy fetishes without knowing the carver’s name, but I make every effort to verify authenticity and I hand-select all items.  I buy only from selected vendors, or purchase directly from the artist.  I don't buy block (powdered and reconstituted stones), nor do I buy from vendors who import items and pass them off as Native-made.  I make annual buying trips, and can occasionally place special orders, so if you don't see something you really want, ask.  I'll make every effort to obtain it for you. Drop me an email for more information.

I also appear annually at two pow-wows in Texas – the National Championship Pow Wow in Grand Prairie (the weekend after Labor Day) and the Great Promise Pow Wow in Austin (the first Saturday in November).  Please keep in mind that most items are subject to prior sale at these gatherings. I'll make every effort to get the site updated as quickly as possible after a show.

Please remember that items on my site are special, one of a kind, handmade pieces. If you see something you really want, order it when you see it. When I sell a piece, there is no guarantee that I can get another one exactly like the first one.

Recent Trip Notes Sept 2011: This year's crop is highlighted by some wonderful pieces in both cedar and utah septarian, materials that are not often available. There's also a great selection of Claudia Peina's wonderful "dancing bears" in both antler and jet. The Shannon Calavaza etched pieces (bear, frog) are a new treat.
